  • continuing on!

Here's a post continuing the NY visitors from a couple weeks ago...

    People watching at Central Park:

Then it was my first time eating at Lombardi's... and I can't believe people compare it to Grimaldi's!  It's not even half as good! (we colored on the box while we waited)

    Drinks before the daniel's gig:

Gig at Fat Baby. Terrible space, but good music :)

Then we dropped off our names at the karaoke place to go eat some ghetto korean food!

    Then... karaoke!!

We had our coats on because the room was FREEZING for some reason. Then we tailed our way home at 5am. Whew.

  • in New York with old Edgers!

Woo whee! This past weekend was full of both work & pleasure.  We had visitors and partied as much as we could.  On Thursday, Mike & Dave came and toured all around NY.

After they watched In the Heights, we met up and headed over to the West Village to for cupcakes & drinks!

After we met up with everyone at around, oh 3am for chicken & rice. Then we woke up met all met up for brunch at one of my new favorite places, Resto! Belgium waffles, eggs benedict and pancakes! YUM!

After brunch, we had 12 cupcakes and coffee at Crumbs!

On our way to Central Park on a BEAUTIFUL day!

I stole Elena's sunglasses and took a picture because it took her such a long time to realize it was missing!

    to be continued....

On the third day, we finally slept in and then took off to Grimaldi's!

then to burn off the calories, we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge... it was such a beautiful day!

Then we headed off to Two Little Red Hens (cute name) for cupcakes & coffee!

    The adorable shop:

Then we crashed in a puddle of blankets until it was dinnertime:

    Dinnertime at Scarpetta:

The bread was SOO GOOD... it was hot with cheese and meat like a pizza!

Gina's dish... err... which was some type of meat.. obviously...

Their "famous" spaghetti... which was whatevers to me. $24 for spaghetti!! Le Zie is so much better for so much cheaper.

Ann's black cod... it was pretty delish!

And lastly I leave you with Ann's early bday gift to me (and slash congrats on the new job gift)
UGG BOOTS!!!!! SO UGLY BUT OH SO COMFY.  Yes, I've conformed. =)

  • Weekend Recap day 2!

Get ready for a lot of food pictures! The 2nd day was one of the best days I've ever had out of all of my entertainment/food experiences! First off, we ate Belgium brunch at RESTO:

Amazing buttermilk pancakes, almost the best I've had.. for only $9!

Belgium waffle with bacon BAKED into it, topped off with eggs benedict on top served with potato spuds. AWESOME.

The most special thing this place has is the HANGOVER PASTA, recommended to us by Gina. Basically it's carbonara pasta with a fried egg on it. SO GOOD!

Next stop... Doughnut Plant!! Gingerbread donut, hazelnut donut, creme brulee donut, a few small apple spice ones...

Afterwards we headed to our musical, Westside Story which was AWESOME!!! Funny thing is that the woman sitting in front of me, was HUGE! I had to keep moving my head around her. She was WAY bigger than her husband, so I'm assuming she was huge AND tall.

THEN we realized we only had 15 minutes to get to our dinner reservation, so we RAN off to grab a cab as soon as the curtains came down. Then we prepared to eat the most decadent meal we've ever had at BABBO:

Lisa talking to the Maitre' D:

First starters, the goat green something salad and fried octupus -- which had the same texture as chicken! it was SO GOOD!

I asked the waiter, should I get the Black Spaghetti or... and then he CUT ME OFF and said "Get the black spaghetti." HA. So I guess that dish is super popular! It was really good!!! (Even though the picture looks so gross)

    Pork belly ravioli

foie gras! my first time... amazing

I dunno what this was. haha

    Calamari

By this time, we were STUFFED so we waited until we were ready for dessert. We had panna cotta and some type of pistachio/chocolate thing and they were both AMAZING. This is a really bad picture but I was so tired.

We closed out the restaurant! A 4 hour meal that ended at 2am.... it was such a New York experience!

To be continued again!! More good food to come...
